Characters: Homura and YOU! Setting: Fourth floor. Format: Starting in prose, will change to whatever! Summary: The stress gets to her. Warnings: angst, spoilers, tl;dr
Castiel has been observing Homura ever since they met in the library. She was an interesting girl to watch; so young, and yet she seemed to have a maturity that was beyond her physical age.
The despair radiating from her small frame sparked the angel's curiosity further, and he landed with a quiet flutter of wings behind her.
She looks up at him, wiping her face. She manages a level tone and flattens her expression; she's shamed that someone noticed her off in her little corner. "Castiel. Good morning."
His simple demeanor, and well-meaning question doesn't annoy her, but it sets her on edge. Vaguely, just ever-so vaguely, she's reminded of someone. "It is none of your concern."
Romeo was once again on the fourth floor and he saw the girl and moved over curious. His face fell when he saw that she was crying, "What's wrong?" He asked drawing closer concerned.
It's a child. He's obviously younger than her, but not by much-- after all, Homura is (legally) only thirteen, though she's lived through at least an additional year.
She looks up at him, and shakes her head. Wiping her eyes, voice quiet and flat, "Nothing is wrong."
Romeo tilted his head, it was obvious that something was wrong, but that she didn't want to tell him, she wasn't too much older than him at all so he tilted his head. "Do you miss your home?"
She clenches her fists, bites her tongue and stays silent. Yes. In a way, she does miss home; she misses Madoka, the girl's easy smile, her kind voice. She thinks of how she may very well be dead for good, and knows that if she speaks, she won't be able to keep her voice level.
