Canada settled a little ways from Romeo, a little frown crossing her features. It wasn't right how this place had brought children--not that she'd wish any of them to be destroyed with their worlds if the letters were true--but they were all alone. Children shouldn't be left all alone. His blatant attempts to cheer himself up made her smile.
"You're right. It's important to keep your spirits up."
Romeo blinked wondering why she was apologising for telling him her name and why she had two names and why one would be easier than the other. "Madeline and Canada are different names," he said confused and then remembered something, "Oh Canada is the name of a country," he waved his hand, "It's a long way from Italy."
Romeo's smile faded a little as he tried to work out if the woman was laughing at him but he nodded, "Pleased to meet you miss Madeline," he smiled and studied Kumago again, "Polar bears come from really cold places right? Is that where you come from too?"
"Oh yes it's quite cold there. Not always, but certainly where Kumata is from. I found her when I was small...And she's been mine ever since. I hope it doesn't get too hot for her here."
"Oh me too!" Romeo said, he knew polar bears had to be in places with ice and there was no ice here. "I hope she is alright," he murmered stroking her head again. Piccolo crawled up his neck and nipped his ear.
"Oi Piccolo!" He grabbed the weasel, "Are you getting jelous!"
Romeo nodded, "I think Piccolo wants everyone to hold him and feed him all the time! Angeletta used to spoil him and dress him in bows," Piccolo ran up to sit on his head.
Romeo smiled and patted the panda bears head again. "He's mine, I found him when I was little in my village and he stowed away with me when I went to Milano even though he was meant to stay with my brothers!"
Romeo nodded and laughed as Piccolo tickled his neck. "Will she grow very big?" Romeo asked, because if she grew too big she probably wouldn't be able to fit in this tower, though Romeo really hoped they wern't their that long. Though if the world really was destroyed then he guessed there was no where else to go.
"You're right. It's important to keep your spirits up."

"Oh I'm Canada, I'm sorry. But you may call me Madeline if that's easier."

"Does he get jealous too? They ought to know we put them first."

Canada reached over and patted him and Piccolo on the head in turn, "Was Piccolo always yours or did you get him from a friend?"

"I don't think she'll grow at all. She hasn't yet at least."
