New style of painting I really wanted to try- It's blocky layering, and even though I was aiming for even less detail (my weakness), it still came out pretty good in the end. The reference photo is one of mine, and this is a Japanese seagull :3

So the good thing: I can whip out paintings quickly for our Etsy store.

Yeah, you nailed the style! I'm impressed you managed to so quickly, you only mentioned it the other day. You definitely got the right idea behind the negative space, fading the wooden post out at the bottom and that colourful texture behind the whole thing is perfect. As for the bird, the shades are pretty spot on. I think the darker shades could afford to be a tad darker and the beak looks a little smudged, but other than that it's awesome. Well done!

Thankies~ But heh, that's not a smudge. That's what a lot of seagull beaks look like. Look up herring gull, it's a perfect example.
