Oh yeah! Right.

And yes. It can sound mean. Especially if it's factual. Consider the situation. You try to write it in a way that DOESN'T sound mean. Well, I guess that would be possible, but then it wouldn't be funny.

I say write it honestly and if it sounds mean add on a nice little rider at the bottom like "..... but they're one of the nicest people I've ever met in my life...." or something like that ;)

Plus, people who deserve meanness generally don't pick up on sarcasm, fools that they are :)

Hmm... "honestly" "one of the nicest people I've met in my life..."

These two don't go together! I think what made me decide not to was how the person ended up so very much described like something between a bat and a vulture. It's hard to make that sound nice.
