What's the strangest thing you've ever done?
Mikey: It wasss playing after Slayer at Reading and Leeds!
Gerard: Ahaha yeah there you go, playing after Slayer.
Mikey: Strangest thing we've ever done.

Have you ever read your own fan fiction?
Gerard: Nooo
Mikey: I only read one! I only read one and it was vile and I vowed to never look at one again.
Gerard: Yeah it all revolves around incest and fucking.
Mikey: There's all sorts of weird--yeah, you know, they could be telling a story but there's gotta be some shit in it where it's like, this uh, eroticism? Very weird.
Why did you decide to dye your hair red?
Gerard: I wanted to get back to where I was when I was a kid in high school and in art school and discovering things and being rebellious. And I think it's also because it was the one thing I could to rebel against--conforming to 30-something rock culture. Also the album was a part of that, a bigger part. But the hair thing was yeah now you won't put us on certain magazine covers because we don't fit into that handsomeness that sells.
What's your favourite My Chemical Romance song?
Gerard: Favorite My Chem song. Um.
Mikey: Mine changes all the time but like, the favorite as of now? Kids from Yesterday.
Gerard: Kids from Yesterday. Scarecrow a little.
Mikey: It changes though, it changes all the time.
Gerard: It does. Last night was the first time we ever played Scarecrow too. We never roadtested it, only soundchecked it, never roadtested it. There was an element of danger last night because we didn't know what was going to happen.
Who are you most like from The Umbrella Academy?
Gerard: I think I've often said Rumor in a weird way. I don't know why. She's the easiest to write. But at times I do feel like Space...Spaceboy.
Mikey: She has a great power, too.
Gerard: Yeah, she does have a great power. Mikey's--I based Seance a lot on Mikey, so.
When are you getting a permanent drummer?
Gerard: We don't know, actually. We're having a lot of fun with Michael right now and that seems to be working great. Here's the thing: we were married a couple of times and we don't want to get married again. You know, um, cause both divorces were emotionally very difficult so that's not something we're ready to rush into.
Mikey: We'd like to keep it loose now. Just friends playing together, having fun.
Gerard: Yeah, and because of that, the shows are actually better. We have an understanding, we're friends, and we're having a great time.

The Vaccines: Who would be your ultimate party guest?
Gerard: I'm gonna go ahead and say the Vaccines. If we had a party, we would invite the Vaccines.

Gerard: Favorite chemical, ummmm. Caffeine is a chemical right?
Mikey: Yeah. Caffeine is definitely my favorite chemical.

Mikey: My spirit animal is the shark.
Gerard: Yeah. Mine's the gazelle. It's always been a gazelle, I've always had a connection with a gazelle because a gazelle is constantly running from predators and it gets by on speed as opposed to strength.
Mikey: Yeah mine is because I just. I can't stand still. At all, period. Can't stay in one place or look one thing for more than a couple of seconds.
Gerard: And he loves eating people. [BRO GRINS AND LAUGHS]

Gerard: Oh which hair dye. Alright, it actually comes from Britain I believe. And I don't know the exact--I wish I knew the exact brand. It's a very specific brand we use because it stays the longest. And it's two colors--it's Cherry Bomb and it's this other kind of orange and we mix them together.
