Ellis also glances down at Val grabbing at his hand, bemused, then shrugged at Metody.
"I've had t'redo most of th' plumbin' in my place at least once durin' th' forty years I been there," he says. "Old houses, you know.... You get this noise just with th' shower? Nothin' else in th' house?"
Val took a deep breath and tried to relax about the pipe thing. After all, uncle Met said there wasn't anything down there, and Ellis is going on about the plumbing.
Strange as uncle Met's world is, likely it's just the same as when the old pipes settle at their house in New Orleans. Just a noise. Something he'll have to get used to.
He let go of Ellis's hand and studied the ceiling, wondering what the strange pattern of leaves and mottled spots is. Are those spots supposed to be there? Huh. "Interesting um. Ceiling stuff."
"The other shower bangs - but just the shower, not the tub spout. And it's all pretty noisy. I don't think they went to any expense with sound proofing."
He looked up. " - yeah, that's - there was a really big fashion for it for a few years in the seventies, but I really prefer sky painting."
