I never really do anything for my birthday, but still it might be nice if people wished me a happy birthday before they wished me a happy valentines day sometimes. I'm sorry that happened to you. I agree with you on Valentines day not really being a holiday.

You are not being childish for wanting those around you to acknowledge that it is your birthday.

Also everyone's birthday is worth celebrating, especially for someone nice like you! :D

So a big happy birthday to you and I hope next year is better.

Well, everyone has their issues for a reason, and it's a reason that is reinforced for everyone by the people around them. Believe me when I say you're not being childish and you do deserve recognition. It's just that it's an issue that goes back to childhood, which is probably why it seems childish.

I'm sorry people don't tell you happy birthday first. People who don't know you as well are probably more inclined to say happy valentines first because they don't feel a strong connection to recognise it.

That one person sounds like a hypocrite. Don't you just hate hypocrites? I can't stand them; my sister's marrying one. Many people have double standards, don't they? But that doesn't excuse it. Not for one minute.
