Got me again, my friend. This especially resonates with me as an ACOA...

Good job!
(And I love how Puck makes everything feel more normal again... )

So I completely sqealed out loud when I realized that this was a sequal to He Remembered (which was also awesome) Even thought I tend to write Burt as fairly awesome (most of the time) I love fic where he has flaws. I this one was a whopper.

But what I really loved about this is the way that Kurt stood up to Burt. I love that he handled it even as his friends want to rush in and save the day. And I'm wild about your artie. I would love you forever if you sometime wrote the conversation that Burt has with carole and Finn... but I also understand that sometimes sequals don't want to happen too :)

This is definately one of my new favorites. Really sweetie it was really great work!

See, Burt is human though, and humans are flawed. He's bound to make a few mistakes along the way, but I'm sure he'll do something awesome later to make up for it.

Yes, Finn wanted to rush in and act like the white knight, and keep Kurt safe, and Artie just wanted to keep Kurt safe, but they both know that there's really only so much they can do.

well after reading some of the other comments from this, I think I may have to expand this into a verse, BaronBacon might actually die if I don't. ;)

Thank you darling, I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and thanks as always for your wonderful comment!

I liked (well, "liked" feels like the wrong word here, but I think you know what I mean) that there was no magic solution in this story, because there isn't any sort of magic solution for alcoholism. It was wonderful that Finn was upset and ready to play knight in shining armor--only to find out there was nothing he COULD do, no matter how badly he wanted to. The reality of Kurt's situation --that even with friends and support, some things can't just be 'fixed'-- was made painfully clear. Well done!

...and now I have to go reread some fic where Burt is awesome. :P

Exactly, if this expands into a verse (Which it looks like it might)I want to show that alcoholism isn't something you just get over. Even if you remain sober for years and years, addiction is still a disease. (Granted the only disease you can get yelled at for having)

The difference between Finn and Artie was while both just wanted to keep Kurt safe, Artie understood why they couldn't just go in there guns blazing, hence why Kurt stayed with Artie.

*Hugs* Yes, go read awesome Burt stories, I read one earlier today! I'm so glad you liked it darling.

Burt's human, he's prone to making human mistakes.

Thanks doll, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
