I really almost cried while reading this and that's actually pretty rare for me when it comes to fics. You could just feel how resigned Kurt was about the entire situation. And how hurt he was about loosing everyone that he really cared about.
I think you said it best when you said that he was an afterthought. I think that was something that I thought about a lot when his dad was spending time with Finn in the actual episodes, that Kurt was worried about being an afterthought. And I love that you explored his changing relationship with Mercedes. Then on top of that you had hsi friendship with Sanatana, which is my new fav.
So if you couldn't tell, I loved it! You have such a way with these situations that you come up with. And this might be one of my new favorites! Fantastic work as always my dear!
Ah yes, that's the thing. He's worried about loosing his dad to the "perfect" son and all that. I really hope they don't alter their friendship much in the show, because I love the friendship between Mercedes and Kurt, but yes I adore Santana.
You're amazing. Your fics always make me want to cry. Poor Kurt. I've actually had that first hand, although not quite so drastically as my family remembered, just not my friends. But it still really, really hurt, which really came across in this.
