Ohhh you just made me cry. Wonderful and heartbreaking at exactly the same time. You captured it well. Those stupid, stupid people. I love the way Glee stepped up for Kurt. Absolutely wonderful.
I really hate Artie's parents in this!!! I can't help but imagine that kind of homophobia would be the worst and most painful. The whole "There's nothing wrong with you we just don't want you near us." *gag*
The fact that Kurt not only accepted it but had been through it enough times to annticipate it is just so sad and makes me want to cry more.
Really great story and, as always, fantastic writing! :D
It is really. When people say stupid things like that. "No you're awesome, I just don't want to be alone with you, but your a great person!" Yeah, that blows, like seriously hardcore.
Yeah, Kurt doesn't seem all that phased when he's called names, so he just kinda takes it.
The really horrible thing about this is that it's so true to real life. My best friend actually had this happen to her in High School. Ans it had a huge impact on her for a long time.
The worst part about this fic in particular was that Artie's parents think that they are being so reasonable. And Kurt really does understand where they are comming from. But the character that I think you really nailed here was Artie. You were just spot on with his horror at what they were saying. And I love that everyone came together to defend Kurt, even Shue! I actually liked him here and you know how I usually feel.
Anyway, love love love it. Really sweetie it was just spot on!
Yeah, it's happened to me before. It sucks, but some a friend of mine once told me this, "Some people are just born dumb, and they aren't ever going to change." A little mean perhaps, but in certain situations, right.
Exactly, it's always the worst when someone thinks their being reasonable in their homophobic requests. Yes Artie, I admit this was a prompt fill, but I kinda wrote it for Michelle, because she loves her some Artie. ;)
Thank you dollface, I'm so glad you liked it and I hope your feeling better!
My goodness this is sad. Artie's parents make me kinda want to scream. I've got a giant rant for them in my head but it'd be too big a comment to write down :) Your fic makes me outraged and gets me thinking. It is most enjoyable and I thank you~
The people above have done a wonderful job at telling you how great this fic is and I agree with them.
It is unfortunate we live in a world where one can characterise homophobia correctly, but you did a fabulous job nonetheless. I have to deal with people like that every day and I'm glad that there are people out there who find it just as wrong as I do :)
