This was a lovely fill, once again. So much emotion packed in what would probably be a short scene if it was ever played out. And I agree with the other comments, while the outright homophobia is terrible, what's even worse is that Mr. and Mrs. Abrams felt like what they were doing was justifiable because hate Kurt or anything. That is so totally grounded in reality and it's really sad.

Anyway, you nailed it, as usual. I love the Artie/Kurt friendship. :)

That has unfortunately happened to me a time or two in the past. It's unfortunate that people think that way, but alas, it happens.

Thank you darling, I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and thanks so much for your comment!

I'm crying right now. Actually crying.
Not the single tear down the cheek as the camera lens softens that Kurts perfected so well, but honest to god crying with a runny nose and red eyes and the funny little gasping breaths.
I'm not really sure why this fic hurt so much, but goddamn. Give me sec to collect myself.

Lovely story. So much emotion that just seemed to hit home.
Love you.
*goes off to cry some more*

The worst part for me was Kurt just accepting it, hell, anticipating it. I loved how even Silent Matt had something snarky to add and how mama bear!Santana jumped in to show her support. This was a wonderful fic. You did it justice. It's been burrowing in my brain ever since watching the ComiCon panel and that asshat with his asshat question. Thanks for sharing :)

Sorry to thread crash, but I had to comment.
e...ver since watching the ComiCon panel and that asshat with his asshat question...

Thank you! I saw a link to that video on one of the memes and it just bothered me so damn much. The cast handled it much more graciously than I would have. And the LOOKS on some of their faces (Amber and Heather especially) made me feel a bit better, as did the huge round of applause when Chris later addressed it. Still, I'm so glad to know that I'm not alone in how much it got to me. :)

VCCV- Thank you so much for your comment, I'm so glad you thought I did this justice. Yes, Kurt did see it coming, like he said it's happened before. mamabear!Santana is awesome in my opinion.

Ok for the comic con stuff...

Now I usually avoid comic-con stuff, but I am weak and broke down and watched it...

The question itself was legit, it was just phrased and stated with such douchebaggery! Like it was aggressive and rude, and just looking at everyone's face, they were all kind of horrified, and Amber looked pissed! I couldn't tell if Kevin was looking at Chris, or further down at Ryan, but everyone seemed annoyed/upset by it. And rightfully so.

However, the shining light of this, was Chris' response a few moments later. It was eloquent, well put and well, right. That's kind of exactly it.

Why is it that some of the most painful stories to read don't have a lick of PHYSICAL pain in them?

I think you really got to the heart of why this prompt was so hurtful: Artie's parents really do believe that they're being rational and pleasant, and Kurt really DOES understand. Oof and double-oof. And if I weren't feeling horrible enough for Kurt, who has to sit there and listen while his friends' parents say horrible things (and while his other friends get to overhear these accusations), I felt horrible for Artie. He's put in an awful position--almost guilt by association--through no fault of his own. I was thrilled to see him speak up though, and thrilled that the glee club seemed willing to separate his view from that of his parents.

I also loved the support that Kurt received--from the most unexpected places. Matt, wonderfully fierce Santana, Mr. Schue.... (I love how he made no real effort to rel in the kids). Their reactions certainly couldn't 'fix' what had been said, but it sure helped.

Because psychological and emotional pain last so much longer and has far more repercussions, of course!

Thank you, this prompt kind of spoke to me, so I grabbed it and ran with it. Ah, yes Artie...that poor kid. I've seen friends in that same situation before, it's terrible. Originally it was suppose to be Finn who spoke up, but Artie wasn't having it, and well who am I to deny Artie anything?

Yes, I think even if they didn't like Kurt...he's still there's you know? No one gets to fuck around with his feelings, but them. I kind of see that being Puck's outlook on this at least.

Thanks for your comment love, you always leave me such wonderful comments! I'm so happy you enjoyed it!

Quick question for you--did the title for this come from anywhere in particular? Theres several lines in a beautiful song ("Never is a Promise") that start with that phrase ("You'll never see the colors I see," etc.), and I LOVE that song so hardcore and I kindasorta hoped that maybe you were referencing it? :p

Hee!

Good? It's more like, "This is just proof that both of us apparently have kickass taste in music." :)

I LOVE that song.
