Who Says Charlotte's Not Cool?

Last night one of my favorite Charlotte eateries, The Penguin was featured on the Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives." It was pretty neat to see a place you've eaten at so many times on TV. We were like "Hey- that's our table!" The show focused mainly on the burgers (of course), fried pickles, and the black bean hummus, which I haven't

We went to the burlesque show too. I'm suprised we didn't see you there! It was really cool though the performer who ate razors and had money stapled to his chest was a little too icky for me to stomache. The girls were awesome and their costumes were to die for. yay for live entertainment!

Really? Wow, I'm surprised we didn't run into each other; it's not that big of a place. Well, we were sitting down most of the time. We showed up pretty much as soon as the doors opened and got a table near the front.

How did we not see you at Big Mamas?!?! We got there right as it was starting and stayed until the very end.

I still haven't been to the Penguin, you must take me sometime.

Yeah, that's just too weird. I guess we just didn't expect to see anyone we knew there, so we weren't really looking. Our table was all the way over to the left side, right behind the row of seats that directly face the stage.

Although I did get up briefly during the intermission and it turned out I did know one of the "official" photographers taking pictures of the show.

We were standing by the bar for the first act and moved to a table on the right side (right if you're facing the stage) for the second act. That place is so small, it is weird that we didn't see each other. Oh well. Next time we'll all go together!
