Sleepy Weekend

Sep 14, 2008 16:41

I've felt very blah and tired all weekend. Yesterday when I left for the HRC Gala Committee meeting, Frank had a terrible headache and didn't feel well. On my my way home I called and asked if he needed anything, and he wanted a chocolate milkshake, so I stopped at Cook Out and got milkshakes, plus some hush puppies and a corn dog. I came home, ( Read more... )

Sean and I were fortunate in that we already had enough gas in our cars to last. (Though we'll both need to get some by Tuesday.)

The range in prices is kind of weird though. In the Kannapolis/Concord area, gas is 4.29 for regular. In parts of Mooresville, it's 4.09. And in other parts of Mooresville, it's 3.89. I can't figure out why for the life of me.

We probably would need help. It wouldn't be anything too elaborate, I was thinking maybe some games, goody bags, a costume contest. Hopefully I will know more soon!

Because I resolutely refuse to feed the gas panic, I was resolutely ignoring it all...

Until I had to run errands today and realised I had about an 1/8 of a tank, and every station I was passing was out. Harumph. As we toodled around, we passed about eleventy stations that had bagged the pumps, and priced showed $4.29. as we continued on our merry way, we did find a place that was $3.89 - which, humourously enough to me, is about what I paid LAST time I filled up my lil' putt-putt.

I loathe fear-mongering for profit. Fuckers.

Yeah, I know what you mean...I don't want to get caught up in all the craziness, but unless you're in a position to just not drive for awhile, you have to go out there and deal with it. I did see a gas truck making a delivery to one of the stations near me this morning, so hopefully other places are getting re-stocked as well.

Gas is as expensive down in SC as it is up here, which is abnormal. We have enough gas to get through the week though.

If you have a Halloween party, I'll bring the kids! I need to get started on costumes and trick-or-treating plans anyway.

*hugs*

Yes, I'll definitely let you know if it happens! I'm looking at Saturday October 25th, during the day, so something like noon-2, or 2-4.

noon - 2:00 is better because late afternoon is nap time. However, at noon, people will expect more lunch-like food, which makes it more expensive. Therefore you may want to do 1:00-3:00 or 2:00-4:00.

Anyway, keep me updated. FYI, we're planning LaPaPie's birthday party for the weekend before that. Probably on Saturday the 18th. Save the date. :-)
