My sister and I went fishing with our dad this morning for Father's Day. I used to go fishing all the time as a kid, stopped in my teenage years when I was old enough to need a license and never bothered getting one, and I swear, I was not this squeamish about certain aspects of fishing as a kid as I was today. Dude, I hear you. I used to love fishing and did it all the time, and then one day I went and suddenly had that crashing moment of understanding of just how much death it all involved. :/ Kudos to you for holding to your principles, though - I quite agree with the idea that if we're going to end an animal's life in a recreational context, we can at least have the decency to eat it and give its death some use.

I ate one forkfull of it and decided I don't like trout. :D Someone else in the house will eat it though.

I still feel bad for the worms though. They way they squirm when you stick them on the hook.... :( :( :(
