We are buying a new  car.

I got a distinction!

This is awesome. This means that I graduate with merit, a PhD becomes easier to get into (if I want to), and all of my agony was worth it.

So yay me. :-)

Have a read - I got chills.

So I just hit my head while trying to clear a jam in the shredder. It was on the bump behind my right ear. Ouch. I saw red and blue and white stars.

It's interesting. I feel rather empty after handing it in. A sort of ennui - a sense of 'what next?'... or perhaps 'so, that was it?' I think I invested so much emotional energy into the dissertation ( Read more... )

... it's all printed out, bound and ready to go. It is the biggest piece of writing I have ever done and it is sitting next to me, so innocent.

I feel a sense of real achievement. I actually couldn't care at the moment what mark I get - the achievement and experience are the most important things. (Ask me this again in a week's time... eep!)

I think the dissertation may be done. I am about to start the last read through. I have done the checks, I have done the Latin bibliographic terms, I have re paginated and updated the Table of content.

I have written a longer conclusion that I am reasonably happy with, and I think overall, it says what I wanted it to say.

Ok so the next part is to print it out as a final draft, and then check it.

I rescued an extremely cute and tiny bug from the relatively alien environment of the bathroom, and released him back in to the wilds of our small courtyard.

More releasing of wildlife... is there a pattern emerging?

All I have to do is:

1. Create a conclusion
2. Create a bibliography
3. Read through it a couple more times
4. Get Jake to proof read it
5. Avert 58th nervous breakdown by drinking heavily and inappropriately
