If all you have is raw talent to work with, all you can ever expect be is decent at best. It doesn't matter what kind of instruction you get or how quickly you pick it up. And that's what you asked.

To be exceptional, you need the instinct. Some people have it - most don't. The path of the sword is in their blood, written on their bones and in their muscles. But even then, not all of them choose to follow it and become nothing but mediocre.
