I'm so spoiled. ::shakes head:: I know this, I accept this about myself. But it still sucks to have it driven home. ::laughs::Despite living in a house with two other adults, and despite the poor and unprdictable state of my health from day-to-day or even hour-to-hour, I still do the majority of my own cooking. I really don't mind, usualy, I ( Read more... )

God, I am so looking forword to my own kitchen! Rest of the appartment, yah, living alone will be nice, but god, it's the kitchen I'm most looking forword to.

I found out today that they may be able to squeeze in the entire curent kithen upstairs into my new appartment, cabnets and counters and all. ::happy beyond words:: It's still gunna be tiney, but I'll actualy have storage and counter space and I can put things in a drawer, and know they'll still be there an hour later! And I won't spend a full week tearing my place appart looking for a tool I use constaly, only to find out mom threw it away because she hadn't used it in six months, and didn't want it cluttering up the kitchen. ::happy sigh:: God, that'll be nice.......

i'm so spoiled, i don't even like to cook for myself, and i live alone. cooking and cleaning were too often treated as punishments or unenjoyable jobs when i was younger, so i hate cooking. my thing is spagetti, though. i do it all on smell, just randomly put spices in it depending on what smells good, and i no longer have a spice rack. it bugs me. it bugs me a lot.

I was luckey, cooking was never a punishment in my house, only a reward. Mom was a homemaker until I was 5 (all three of my sibblings got her full time all their childhoods ::pouts:: She was Mega Mom back then, could do anything. She still can, just dosen't now. ::G::), so getting to "help" her was for when we were on good behaivor. I learned to bake at her side, and learned to love my food. All my love for the "science of cooking" I developed on my own, as did my eldest siter, and my brother got the pure love of cooking cooking but hates bakeing (he sucks at it too ::lol:: but he's a kick ass cheff, which is what he's being doing Pro since he was a teen). I still refuse to clean a house or put away dishes after the dishwasher is done out of pure chore-induced spite, even when I'm living by myself, but cooking and bakeing...those are purly for the love of the food, for me.

cooking is alright. it's the cleaning up the kitchen afterwards that annoys the hell out of me. doing dishes is the most pointless, circular task in existance. i'd rather scrub my apartment than do the dishes.
