I _HAVE_ dropped towels around a toilet and gone to a 24 hour target to get a plunger.... but have never plunged a toilet with my bare hands....

Actually it isnt' that bad depending on what it was clogged with. It isnt' like you reach in and take things out of it. You cover the hole and make sure that no air passes through and force the water down like a plunger. Very simple and not as bad as you think.

ok, I just have images in my mind of reaching your hands into the bowl and cupping around the hole and pressing with your arms to create suction.... in a bowl backed up with excriment.... ew
