Roasted mochi and hakama with kimono

Two questions:

-Why is "jealousy" in Japanese the same word as "roasted rice cakes" ("yakimochi/焼餅")?

-What happens to the kimono when you wear hakama pants over it?

heh I think the difference is in the pronounciation. ^_^ One for jealousy is YA-kimochi. For The rice ckes is yaKI-mochi. ^_^ and most likely the wirtten word is totally different? It's like how we use similar sounding words for puns in english. ^_^.
