Thank you for this rec, I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. If being stunned by bleak creepiness can be called enjoyment... which I say it can, if it's as brilliantly written as this fic. I'm off to read the author's back catalogue now. \o/

Actually, it came just a bit over 17K words. For a gift fic, that's a pretty hefty thing.

As for the rec, you very much earned it. This story is so good! And I generally avoid the dark fic like the plague.

Yeah, it's genius. For some reason, I thought it had to do with vampires. Maybe the icon? Anyway, nothing to do with vampires, but holy crap does it ever deserve the explicit violence and themes ratings. Yikes. If you like things that tear your heart out and don't put them back in, this is the fic to read.
