great treatment for the character. I like the second one better because of all the shading in the hair. The backgrounds for both are way dynamic.

Thanks for the feedback!
The second one's coloring is closer to what I was looking for personally too and I was able to also put more detail into it. Vector has its place, I just wasn't originally expecting to do it digitally as I did.
I finally found some "smooth" bristol in my old art supplies, so I'm experimenting with coloring in that... but I still need a lot of practice.
I hope "Dynamic" is a compliment. ^.^
