Going Solo (3/3) Torchwood/Doctor Who
Part Three
I had recognised him at once as The Doctor, the man who had towed the Earth home after defeating the Daleks and also a friend of Jack’s. I gave a small smile before speaking.
“Ianto Jones, I work for Torchwood Three in Cardiff,” I replied which made him grin even more.
“Ah yes, you work with Captain Jack Harkness, brilliant!” He said rather enthusiastically before turning to the young woman whose name seemed to be Catherine, “Sorry I need the sonic screwdriver after all.”
She handed back the weird torch device before he looked back at me suddenly, “Sorry but why are you here?”
“Oh this house has been getting strange reports of bright lights coming from inside the house....”
“Oh I told you those pilots saw us,” Catherine told the Doctor.
“Yes alright, still it doesn’t mean anything since we left before Torchwood arrived didn’t we?” The Doctor said rather tetchy. “Sorry, if you were expecting something different.”
I just smiled, “Ah no, still it’s good to know that I don’t have to use the gun.”
“Right then I have to go back to repairing the Tardis,” The Doctor said with a smile before disappearing back behind the door. Catherine smiled.
“So what’s it like to work for Torchwood?” She asked.
“Oh alright, it’s 24/7 since we have to watch the rift,” I replied with a smile. “I have a little saying now that I say to myself when an investigation is solved.”
“And what’s that?” She asked quite intrigued. I started to grin.
“As usual, Torchwood saves the day!”
