The smoke could be seen clearly from the hill. A fire had ravaged a home, caused by a lit cigarette fallen from a young woman’s hand into a puddle of petrol. Witnesses later described how she was angry, looking for the man who broke her heart.
Eighty years later the statements were found in a box marked private, stored in the Torchwood hub storage room. Later it was stored in a basement office of a new Torchwood employee.
It led her to Captain Jack Harkness, hiding in a house with a key around his neck.
