Good news, she sticks around for a bit. She'd probably still be featured on the show if she didn't go and get herself knocked up by Billy Crudup, who preceeded to drop her at seven month pregnant for Claire Dane.

You're right Skooch, I have no idea why they set up his challenger as unintelligent. The American people would never elect such a simple-minded moron as president.

At that point, it was writer Aaron Sorkin. I'm fairly certain he pretty much wrote the whole show by himself, barring episodic help and research.
