Wow, is this ever different from all your other decades. Maybe it's for the best that in a decade where art seemed to slumber if not die to go with some crowd-pleasers.

of the classic "artistic" 80s movies:
Shining, Blade Runner, Das Boot, Amadeus...
For some reason I don't really like any of them

In my opinion, Back to the Future is the quintessential 80s movie. I don't know if I'd be able to cobble together a list like this, but I have no problem with your top pick.
