The Return Of Dinner

Last night I had a Jack In The Box chipotle chicken sandwich before roller derby practice, which was delicious.  Unfortunately, this one was much spicier than previous ones, and eventually I ended up the evening before going to bed by throwing it up.  It burned coming back up, which was bad enough, but what made it even worse was the fact that I ( Read more... )

Oh god, I hate throwing up something fruit flavored with something meaty. It's so grosssssss. :C

It was the visual aspect that really tossed me for a loop. I had to keep telling myself, "It's okay, your stomach did not explode and you are not chumming up giant gouts of blood. It's just the V-8 Fusion, nothing to worry about. Now continue puking."

Such a good sandwich, though. It was a real shame to lose out on digesting it.

That's why I don't eat before derby practice. One time, I had a particularly spicy and filling dinner. Ended up eating track by belly flopping and had to skate super fast to throw up. Not good times.

My usual pre-practice meal is two chicken soft tacos from Del Taco; nice and light but still filling, and relatively healthy compared to most other fast food. Pre-bout, it's teriyaki chicken wings. I am very much a creature of habit, and when I go outside the box before strapping on the skates, bad things happen with my stomach. I couldn't help it, though, because that sandwich is so good.
