I've been having an allergic reaction to GOD KNOWS WHAT for the past three days. I thought it might have been some pomegranate I ate on Tuesday; I haven't had pomegranate in YEARS so I thought I may have developed an allergy to it. I'm glad it's getting better though! *hands you a cookie bigger than my head and a gigantic cup to dip it in* :)

I know everybody else has offered their thoughts, but I have a few ideas of my own. Many times, doctors are quick to attribute hives to an environmental trigger, but it isn't always the case. Two thoughts:
1) are you getting over a viral infection? In my experience, when I get a cold or other similar virus, my immune system goes into overdrive and I will break out in hives.
2) did you take any sort of over-the-counter painkiller (besides Tylenol) prior to getting the hives? I have Aspirin sensitivity (Samter's Triad) which causes hives, is more common in women, especially those with asthma, and usually doesn't develop until your twenties. Aspirin derivatives are found in Ibuprofen, Aleve, Excedrin, etc. and usually cause massive breakouts of hives for me.
I hope they clear up soon!

I always take Excedrin (which has aspirin in it) for my headaches, but I've never had a reaction like this before from it! The only painkiller that gives me trouble is hydrocodone, which makes me SUPER nauseas. I don't ever take it long enough to see if it causes a reaction like this. :/
Thanks! They're really slowly going away. They're still really red and blotchy but they aren't raised and welted anymore, which was the worst part. :(
