the most recent tampon post made me have to post my own stupid too_much_info.

So, I've never been able to use tampons. Not because they hurt. Because I bled too heavy. ((So I thought)). My friend never could use them for the same reason. The two of us took solace in pads.

Now, we did this from the time we were about 12 till 21.

So, I did this ON my twelfth birthday, except with a PLASTIC applicator. I jammed it up there and went, "oh my god. Something is wrong here. I shouldn't have plastic bits clawing at my cervix." I tried again and figured out that you push the cotton bit out. My vag was much, much happier.

EXACTLY MINE WERE PLASTICCCC

and I remember being in swim class going to change tampons an hour later and my coach yelling because tampons should last for hours

and i didn't know how to explain something terribly hard and plastic and stabby was killing me.

Thank god my mother was the one to show me and I asked her if I kept that part in, and she said 'no, nothing but the cotton stays'.

I would have been in your same situation I'm sure had I done it all on my own.
