Santa Monkey Cam

I'm in Nagano right now. Last night we stayed at the Jigokudani Onsen, and this morning we visited the Hell Valley Monkey Park. Through some strange coincidence (and without any prior knowledge or coordination) peglegpete happened to be watching the live monkey cam at the same moment and grabbed these two shots:

I've been dying to go there for a long time. I didn't realize it was so cheap, though! Next time I'm in Japan I'm definitely going to have to head up there.

And throw you off a train with no wallet?

They mostly just leave you alone, preen each other, and get into minor social dominance fights. If you get too close to them (and by "too close" I mean "within an arm's reach") they'll bare their lower teeth and let you know to back off.

This is so wonderful. I, too, want to know more about the behavior of these monkeys.
