"you and me, babe, how about it"

Not so long time ago in a community not that far away a couple of MIND BLOWING drabbles were written based on a magnificent idea regarding the hypothetical romance of two anthropomorphized MMOs. (I can only imagine their meeting: of how they did look each other up and down, and L2 did disapprove, and WoW did say 'hi baby ( Read more... )

WHY IS THERE NOT MORE MATERIAL FOR THIS, wah my new OTP. I love neko/inu pairings ahaha. WoW's scruff, adorbs.

s-sob I don't even play mmos ;A; what have you all done.

Kavlier & Clay has that effect. People ask me why I love it and I'm just left standing there going durrrrrr, and like 15 minutes later I've formulated a response, because I have too many feelings for the book, its characters, metaphors everything. Chabon is a master. ;___;

WoW/L2 really is that cute and so genius, I know people IRL who play one or the other and yes it really really is like that ;A;. sob I hope you evil overlords keep this up!

Yes, I think by the Radioman arc you've kind of accepted that noone is going to live happily ever after/there are no heroes (the point of the book?), but you really do keep hoping against hope, because you really do feel for the characters They are so real! Admittedly I was more ;A; for Sammy at the end of the book than for Joe, but YMMV. Maybe his almost non-existance for the middle third was a good thing, I'm not sure my heart could handle reading about those twelve years of denial and suburban mediocrity.

If the prose ever suffered from bloat, it is forgiven for the parts where it is just sublime. Actually the last passage of the book reduced me to tears. Amongst others. ;_; (again, man, Bacon/Sam. crying, everything)

Me too! I love that Chabon didn't skimp on the arty details, he really does love the medium (or is especially good at faking it idk ahah)

I would speak more of my SCARILY massive love for you, but I think any more would send you flying for the hills. Instead I will just leave my heart in your keeping, because you keep stealing it every time you send us a new tidbit. <3333

I cannot believe that this has grown from something hilarious Aki created in late night gchat into a pairing with BEAUTIFUL ART and hopefully some more awesome writing once Aki gets back from China. XD Just the thought of them makes me grin helplessly in the middle of homework.

Thank you so very much!

i name you and tongari the OFFICIAL ADOPTED PARENTS of this pairing, so far you have treated these babies WELL <3 please continue to do so, omg, tongariiii, MOAR :opens mouth, roars in hunger: i live for your sporadic emails with attachments, no joke XD WHEN I SEE THEM I AM SO EXCITED.

Dude if that was late night tomfoolery it was all spot on and went straight to my heart. and I cannot wait to see what you can conjure up in future xD

Yea I haven't read a book like this for a long long time?? Funny how I can play video games and the characters sort of come alive and linger in your mind, but it's not so easy for characters from books to sort of linger in the mind in the same way. But well K&C have done that. So beautiful ;;

awwww, what an adorable comic :DD

I haven't played either of the mmos in question, but at least going by hearsay, wow seems pretty spot-on ;)

Also!!!! I am so glad you have read and enjoyed Kavalier & Clay. I am so glad it has been enjoying such a mysterious surge of popularity on my friendslist, as it is an amazing book and I tear up now even just thinking about it. :|
