Not so long time ago in a community not that far away a couple of
MIND BLOWING drabbles were written based on a
magnificent idea regarding the hypothetical romance of two anthropomorphized MMOs. (I can only imagine their meeting: of how they did look each other up and down, and L2 did disapprove, and WoW did say 'hi baby

Hahahaha I love their dynamic that aki and chrissie have ingeniously brought to life, also HOW MUCH LIKE THEIR GAMES THEY ARE
L2 is this incredibly beautiful game whose really hardcore players get super defensive about although they know they are all masochists for playing, and WoW is the happy happy super-easy-to-play game everyone likes and is so easy to feel comfortable with that he has become shamelessly polygamous about it. BUT HE HAS HORRIBLE TASTE don't let him colour your hair
And oh man I hear you. Like half a day later I think I can only begin to articulate how I feel (and that is to you, who has already read the book how many times already xD).. Aside from swimming in a sea of prose so rich and soupy it felt like a living creature, no an entire ECOSYSTEM, I kept not wanting the book to end, but wanting it to end so the characters didn't have to suffer any more because for as long as the book went on I knew they would suffer in some way. The interaction between the characters is written so tenderly, paints such beautiful and aching scenes. Also man I want to draw like how Chabon describes Joe's drawings. SO GOOD ;_;

Yes, I think by the Radioman arc you've kind of accepted that noone is going to live happily ever after/there are no heroes (the point of the book?), but you really do keep hoping against hope, because you really do feel for the characters They are so real! Admittedly I was more ;A; for Sammy at the end of the book than for Joe, but YMMV. Maybe his almost non-existance for the middle third was a good thing, I'm not sure my heart could handle reading about those twelve years of denial and suburban mediocrity.
If the prose ever suffered from bloat, it is forgiven for the parts where it is just sublime. Actually the last passage of the book reduced me to tears. Amongst others. ;_; (again, man, Bacon/Sam. crying, everything)
Me too! I love that Chabon didn't skimp on the arty details, he really does love the medium (or is especially good at faking it idk ahah)

And I am so glad that the pairing has caught your fancy! It makes it easier to believe that the three of us are not just happily crazy. XD
