Ohho, fun! I do like the two of them trying to have a conversation while gasping for breath. And indeed, "fighters win battles, not gentlemen".

I have to second this comment! I also like "manners won't save you.."

Thanks - I was getting a little tardy for 'gift', then I realised I could do them as a two for one answer to the prompt. ~_^

Thank you! It's inspired me to try to do a series about The Amah & Finduilas - if I can.

I love the idea of Amah being Faramir's teacher - and having given Aragorn a few lessons too...

Ah well, she knew Aragorn before Faramir was a twinkle in his father's eye! And I might possibly be able to explain a bit more of 'how'... if the muses are talking to me. ~_^

What fun! Great to see these guys in action, together. Your discussion of battle style and tactics is great, and I, too, like their gasped-out, post-fight conversation.

Also, I'm quite taken with the idea of Faramir fighting dirty. Because "noble" doesn't negate "do what you have to, to win," after all.

Faramir's teacher knows full well that in the heat of battle you utilise whatever presents itself as a way to survive - the old dear had had some pretty hard times herself before she passed that knowledge on, and she is totally pragmatic about doing what 'needs' to be done in any situation.
