So very sad...
As much as he may have felt he had to, I've always thought Tolkien was rather cruel to Arwen.

Hence in another fic, I found a way to get her a passage to the West.

Tolkien seem to say that Arwen crumbled when faced with the full consequence of the choice she had made. It is quite harsh, but poignant too.
