Title: Returning Author: Wormwood_7 Character: Miraculously alive Boromir Rating: G Warnings: none Disclaimer: These characters belong to Tolkien. I make no money from this.
Miraculous indeed! :D I can imagine that Boromir, had he survived, would have needed some time to come to terms with everything that had happened (and that he'd done or tried to do). Lovely piece. Thank you!
That is exactly what I was trying to express. He wasn't really sure who he was anymore. Thank you for taking the time to interpret this, and thank you for commenting!
I like this very much (especially "miraculously alive Boromir"). His journey with the Fellowship challenged so many of his assumptions about himself and his place in the world.
Yes, had Boromir survived I imagine all those assumptions would have been overthrown, and he would have returned a very different man, but perhaps without being quite sure who that man was at first. I am really pleased you liked this. Thank you for reading and commenting!
i have a feeling that once he learned and then accepted the changes as a journey of emotional growth, he would be pleased with the man he'd become. somehow though, i think it'd be hard for him to get past the guilt on his own.
Yes, I agree that he wouldn't heal, or get past the guilt, on his own. (In fact I had a line about that I had to cut to stay within the 100 words). I very much see him returning to Minas Tirith after a while, to the people who love him. He is after all deeply attached to his City. He just need to redefine that attachment in light of the man he has become. Thank you for reading!
