Title: Returning Author: Wormwood_7 Character: Miraculously alive Boromir Rating: G Warnings: none Disclaimer: These characters belong to Tolkien. I make no money from this.
There was always a space however, between him and those he touched, between him and the City. Its beauty somehow always out of reach...stolen from between his fingers.
I really like this; the idea of the space between him and everyone around him as he learns to deal with his new perceptions of the world and his place within it. A bit of guilt, a bit of PTSD, a bit of confusion over a world in which warriors perhaps don't have quite the place they had before. Of course he's confused over where he will fit in. Very thoughtfully written as well as thought-provoking.
Sorry for taking so long to answer your comment. I have been out of Internet reach for a week.
Thank you for your lovely comment. You picked up so much of what I wanted to express.
a bit of confusion over a world in which warriors perhaps don't have quite the place they had before Yes, Boromir is a litte like any returned soldier. The actual physical homecoming is only a small part of the coming back; to a world very different from the one he left. Thank you for reading!
