I love the idea of Bilbo cooking in Rivendell, and I'm actually working on a wee ficlet of my own on that subject. I do wonder if such an unusual cheese will be met with delight or disgust! I suspect the Elves would be delighted to at least try something they'd never heard of before.

I felt that if this was going to be his new home, he still wouldn't want to give up the hobbity delights of cooking and baking for himself. I'm sure the elves are adventurous enough to try it... and a bit of Stilton will go so well with Master Elrond's Dorwinnion Red! ;-)

I do like these - but feel sorry for the elves who are being forced to politely eat smelly cheese....

Thanks - I dare say at least some elves will be persuaded to sample the delights of a good blue cheese... once they've got over the initial pong. ;-)

Yes, one feels the Last Homely House would provide a kitchen, if hospitality required it.

No, I'm not about to try making the home-made Stilton at home! But hopefully elven digestion will withstand it!

Yes that's what I thought - I can't see Bilbo being satisfied with NOT having a say, or a hand, in what he eats, after all Hobbits are all about cooking and eating... when they're not being burglars, or saving the World. ;-)

Well, there are lots of instructions online about making blue cheese... but I think I'll stick to buying the remedy made version.
