Title: Pegging Author: Kortirion Character: Thorongil, Thengel Rating: G Source: Pre-Ring War Disclaimer: Tolkien created - Kortirion merely scribbles in the margins.
There's something more than a little happy-making about seeing Aragorn struggle in new contexts. I think his ability to put himself out there in contexts where he's not competent is part of what makes him such a great leader in his own way as well. Nice glimpse into the Thorongil years.
Btw, I don't know if you know this, but I think the character is Thengel (with two e's)? I only mention it because the spelling might mean the tag isn't working properly.
Sorry, it wasn't just the tag that had the typo. You've got "Thengal" in the character list and "Thengol" in the drabble itself, in "Thengol-king". The sort of thing that happens in the wee hours...
What a great imagery, Aragorn earning his spurs (or so) as an Eorlinga (darn, I don't even know if that is the correct singular, sorry). But I don't doubt he will manage it in the end.

I'm sure the Dunadan will show his merit--but possibly not right away at the first try?
