Bookwise I'm loving the content of your shelf but oh gosh, it's so neat. You would hate my shelves. They're higgeldy piggeldy, pile high and yes stacked horizontally. I have 5 shelves like it... I don't have space for any more shelves right now - I'm still decorating the library. It's going to be have to wait now until the baby is born though but I need probably at least 2-3 more bookcases

not everything can be in its place if there's not a place for everything, right? even i've only just got my shelves sorted out ^_^
a library full, that's awesome.. we have one, but it's mostly my mom's books (that aren't to be touched)

I'd love it if there were standard sizes for books so it would look even neater! ^0^
what kind of stuff do you read?

I read just about everything but on my book shelves you'll find poetry, children's literature, cookbooks, self-help, some of the classics, a few best sellers, non-fiction, theories and biographies.

LOL that's not weird at all. I love books, and seeing them all nice and neat and in good condition makes me happy as well. I absolutely HATE it if my books get bent out of shape or torn or anything, which is why I'm hesitant about lending them out, because NO ONE ever seems to give a crap about the books condition. I lent a book to a friend recently and got it back water damaged, worn, bent, torn, the cover was almost completely destroyed, and they handed it back to me like nothing even happened. so i said something and they were like "what? it's just a book." YES.. a book i paid for, and lent to them in good faith. i just stood there dumb founded staring at a book i JUST bought that now looked like it was 500 years old. like... how was that even possible?! *achem* point is... um.. i like books! =D LOL!

19 is still pretty good! and you can knock a good number out still! maybe not 50 but you've still read more than almost anyone i know, even at 19! haha.

Omg, she would be on my blacklist just like that! That would make be FUME! Someone returned a book with a torn page the size of a thumb and that already made my jaw drop. I also wouldn't like it if they folded pages to mark where they stopped. Bookmarks, people! Booklovers <3

I was reading about 1 or 2 books every week since the beginning of the year which would've kept me on track, but then there was just this long period of not reading and it ruined it..

ahhaha! exactly. if you lent out a DVD or a CD, anyone would be pissed if it were scratched up. why is that any different with books? it's still a possession. it's still something i paid for and i want it back the way i gave it out! i had another friend who i always lent books to, but she always bends her books backwards when she reads so whenever i got them back the binding would look atrociousss. i had a bunch of first edition books that she ruined that way. she borrowed them all at once which is why i didn't find out till after, and they were all ruined and worthless. she wanted to borrow another book, and i told her DO NOT bend it. she said alright, alright. i get it back... DESTROYED! gah.

a week?! dang! i love books, but after work, i hate my job so much and i just want something mind numbing haha. so by the time i get around to reading, i'm either tired and can hardly stay up orrrr i only have a few minutesss, i think i only get around to like one book a month =X eeep!

omg *MURDEROUS INSTINCTS COMING*!! lol jk, but definitely never to be trusted again D: i would say that i didn't have it, can't find it, someone else is borrowing it etc just to avoid having someone who'd do that from touching it ever again.. those poor books.. ;__;

ha~ it wasn't a typical record for me either, but the to do list had me motivated.. :) keyword 'had'..
