As far as the show in Ottawa... I can not cope with the amount of love and respect I have for those kids. Seriously. The ones that were there for the MUSIC (NOT THE SOCIAL SCENE) suddenly mean more to me than us, the old skool crowd. We like to think that we retain that innocent, unadulterated honest love for the very essence of what a rock show is... but the sweaty, screaming, dancing kids in that basement were a friendly reminder of how it should always be, because even with us, it isnt always the case. I think that it was the PERFECT thing to put into perspective the loss at the battle of the bands. Because back then, we would have said, "Fuck that. We love the music. Not trying to compete with our fellow musicians." And I think that the kids in church were a freakin' spiritually moving revelation. BACK TO OUR ROOTS. It's all about the rock.
