My heart is thumping so incredibly hard right now. I got light headed. I felt dizzy. Adrenaline rushed through this here old body. The fight or flight response kicked in. Luckily I didn't have to do either and have nothing to worry about but geesh allmighty that is some powerful get up in the body. My what wonderful drugs we emit in our frames. I need a kick like this everyday. It's still going!
Oh gosh. I just got the eye. You know THE eye. The eye full of vibe in a good and positive way. That has nothing to do with the above statement however, but it doesn't help me calm down at all.
I should be driving home from the specatular Alkaline Trio show at UIC right now...but alas fate said my weekend had already been filled to the brim with rock n' roll excess so here I sit typing at the Nightmare up North wishing I was an hour south and two months prior enjoying the soothing sounds of Ryley and Kenny @ the 9th Street Pub and nursing a pint with the only girl that for some reason keeps this heart beating.
We lost the dang Battle of the Bands...but battle we did indeed! We secured a measely 3rd place finish but missed going on to the next round by 5 votes. Buddha even have to leave and print up like 70 ballots because they ran out. It was a glorious night. I only wish I could remember the second half of it. From what I hear I had a good time. Threatened to kill many a person. Punched a wall. Participated in some sweet habit. Trashed the van. and grabbed a booty. Solid night right there I would say.
My my heart still hurts man! Literally. Weird. All these chambers gushing simultaneously.
*sidenote*
Gushing is a gross word.
I never liked GUSHERS. I always thought them to be semi-gross.
I'm not gonna drink any soda this week. It's a challenge I've given myself. For those of you out there who judge your friends by the amount of soda they drink. I apologize in advance for my soon to be edgyness. It's getting hot in herre so take off all your clothes.
The new Egon's record shows definite promise and I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel as far as this project is concerned. I will set the date right here, right now...
Egon's Unicat - "Weird and Fearful Times" *Madeyalook Records* (in collaboration with the good folks over at Cardiff Giant) Release Date: December 8th 2005
The shows in Ottawa were fun this weekend. ESPECIALLY @ the Lutheran Church. Rock Show 3.0. It was amazing. I haven't felt that same kind of youthful energy at a local show or a show in general in years. That pure excitement and unapologetic energy and joy from playing and participating in the art of rock n' roll since the 99'/00' days at the Main Squeeze Juice Bar. Kids pooooouring sweat just from dancing sooo damn hard. Jumping and singing just to escape into the music. Playing cover songs cause they just love em so much, and you can tell.......rock.
There was no posing. No Ego. No sense of hip. There was rock. There was loud. There was honesty.
!WE ARE THE YOUTH!
sing it loud, sing it proud
