Shyama is a kitty who knows his own little geriatric mind. I swear we've started a home for geriatric runaway kitties. Didn't mean to, but there you go :)
My next projects are the two Knockout roses (mine) and the two grape vines (mother's). I know just where and how I'm planting the roses, but the grapes I'm still unsure of. But there will be pictures of both.
See I adore the work involved. It makes me feel useful? not sure that is the correct word, but it gets me motivated and moving so I'm happy with it. Every day it floors my mom that I like to garden.
Shyama has had years to learn to be regal as far as we can tell. The old boy is starting to go white. I'm just glad the huge gash in his neck healed up alright. He LOVES for me to comb him and get all the crude off his "battle scars". He is not the most confrontational of kitties, but he does now protect what he thinks of as his food bowl.
v. tastefully done! and you have a Yard Kitty! how awesome! we have one too and he'll leap up on your back when you're squatting down weeding and proceed to loll around, bite the edge of the sun hat, etc. and sink his talons in if you try to dislodge him :D
Hey, its looking nice. And if you're feeling up to gardening it must mean you're feeling better. I'm so glad. And I love your little yard cat. He's adorable. Now don't let all the other ones get jealous if they smell him on you!
Oh the other kitties all know about him. He sits at the back door waiting for me to come out and "play". Tux tries to intimidate him occasionally, but since both of them are pretty old and neither of them really fights, it's a humorous type "showdown" :P
The feeling good comes and goes. Many times it is the gardening that helps me feel good since I'm doing something not just sitting. You know I hate to just sit. But I'm learning that somethings I can't do, even when I want.

Shyama definitely has the look of a cat that doesn't like to be ignored... ;-)

It's looking really good now - you're very industrious. I love the look of a nice garden but have no desire to actually do any of the work involved!
Shyama is a very regal looking cat, I'm sure he thinks that it's his yard.....

I keep looking at my gardening list and thinking I'll never ever be done.
