Also, does anyone have advice or suggestions about getting a new credit card? I need one.

Really it's just about shopping around for the one that works best for you. Do you want rewards or low interest and balance transfers? How's your credit?

There are websites that help with this sort of thing, like http://www.creditcards.com

If you have excellent credit, you could probably get a good rewards card with a 0% APR for 6-12 months. Less good credit and you have to choose.

Also you can check out any good deals through your bank. I'm with Bank of America, and when I log in, there are always offers for me that are pretty good.

Whatever you do, make sure you know the terms. If you pay a day late, does your APR jump from 4.9 to 29.9? That's good to know. Are there annual fees? Are they worth it? etc.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice! I will peruse that site. Normally I hate thinking about this kind of thing and just want something I never have to worry about again. Maybe this will teach me to be smarter.

Sure! If you have any other questions come up, ask away! I feel like I'm pretty good at the credit card game. :)

The answer to your question depends on whether you currently have a balance that you intend to pay off soon, if you tend to carry a balance, or if you pay in full every month ( ... )

Wow, lots of good advice. I have no balance now and am looking for the convenience, but I'm also recognizing that I might need to start carrying a little bit of debt if I do decide to leave my full-time job. I'll check out those links and see what I find.
