Ugh, i totally faced the dilemma of "i really only want 1&2, WHY AREN'T THEY SOLD SEPARATELY, but... blu-ray!!!!!" and ultimately just sucked it up and asked for it. It really is a beauuuuutiful set though.

And SERIOUSLY SERIOUSLY OH MY GOD they hold up so well, it's ridic. Alien in particular is shot so beautifully that to see it restored to pristine quality is MAGNIFICENT. They really are timeless. A timeless heartwarming tale of ferocious acid-blooded beasts. ;____;

I am currently in need of a new computer anyway, so... fingers crossed, sometime in the near future i will have blu-ray capping capability. Acquiring so many blu-rays lately without being able to cap anything at all is fucking torturous. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF TECHNOLOGY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Physical pain and mental creation/destruction as manifested through violently hypermasculine and hyperfeminine pursuits.

hnnng I LOVE YOU THE MOST, MARINA

although I do confess to a sad love for Alien Resurrection. It's just so goofy and lesbonic, what can I say.

:D

I probably should have amended to say that i do love android Winona Ryder, and the room full of Ripley clones, and maybe even the fact that it is Joss Whedon's proto-Firefly. I really ought to rewatch though, my memories of it have faded considerably. (lesbian fanon tidbit of the day: upon rewatching Alien i decided that Ripley and Lambert are bitter exes. based purely on the fact that they don't get along and otherwise have a completely undefined relationship???? lol, self.)

I guess it gets into Father/Son/Holy Spirit territory which i don't like because, eeeehhhhhhh, that's too self-important and religious allegory is played out (even though the first Tron had that too).

I think of it more like Morpheus/Neo/Trinity or Dumbledore/Harry/Ginny. Tho there are some religious metaphors to those stories too. Eh. XD

CLU was banging the Lucifer anvils pretty hard. Especially in the prequel comics (though which are probably not canon anyway). OMG Y DOES DADDY LOVE HIS OTHER "REAL" SON MOAR THAN MEEEEE??? Ok, not really, but you get that impression from CLU in the comics. I got that impression from CLU in the movie. Being all jealous because Flynn broke his promise about them building the "perfect world" together.

I just like that it's about family! HENCE THE "LEGACY" IN THE TITLE.

And Sam/Quorra are probably going to have a half-CylonISO/human baby. Somehow. Perhaps Sam programs her/him? Like a SIM?

Oh man, I love Aliens hardcore. It's such an awesome movie. I wrote like 343294626429 papers on it for my 37438273287 Film courses on Gender in Film/Pop Culture.

of course lol there is a big goddamn T on his chest
What! I didn't notice that. Ha.

(and to get more obscure: SHODAN! and i have never even played System Shock! I just like reading the stories of classic games a lot of the time. That is a big part of my relationship with video games: too many of them stress me out but i am so intrigued by their stories and worldbuilding and atmosphere that i love watching other people play them and will often just read about the plots online.)
Ha! You weirdo.

And today i was thinking that a Black Swan/Fight Club crossover (fanvid?) would be PRETTY SWEET. Physical pain and mental creation/destruction as manifested through violently hypermasculine and hyperfeminine pursuits.
Oooh.

Most unexpectedly hilarious part: von Rothbart dude in full makeup and outfit backstage, walking by and casually saying "hey."
Yes!

the full wings were spectacular and i wish that moment hadn't been spoiled by previews; I'm so glad I hadn't seen that in any previews, because it was SO COOL. I loved how they grew more with ( ... )
