I am sobbing.

AGREEMENT ON ALL THINGS!!!!! FEEEEEEEEEELINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm really hesitant to read other people's reactions because i don't want anyone to be disappointed with it.
Oh man, I KNOW. I started reading some stuff but as soon as I read some "It sucked," I just had to stop.

Oh, Tumblr is just too much for me. I end up bawling every time I see something from the finale. And then I automatically hit reblog and just post every single thing. AHHHHHHHHH!

I really do think we all need a collective Lost fandom group hug.

I got a glimpse of at least one negative review, and after reading only the first few sentences i had to close it. NOBODY IS ALLOWED TO HARSH THIS BUZZ FOR ME. It's the end of Lost forever, i have to enjoy it.

I've gotten better about not bursting into tears every time i see any picture from the episode, but i still can't stop thinking about what happened and then occasionally it flips that FEELINGS OVERLOAD switch in my brain and i get all weepy again, some more.

We need a fandom group hug and OPEN BAR. If Christian Shephard taught me anything, it's that i need to drink the pain away! ...That's the lesson i was supposed to take from this, right?

(Sorry about my other badly edited comment.)

I believe so. I think that was one of the overarching themes. :)

Did you hear that there's going to be a Hurley/Ben epilogue thing about their time as 1 and 2 on the island in the Complete Series DVD set? I'm kind of super excited about that.

What it really comes down to is, even in the face of all the bizarre, unexplained shit these characters experienced, the pursuit of love, purpose, and fulfillment was the most enduring and elusive mystery to them-- and i think that's really important to keep in mind if you went into this assuming that the literal mysteries of the island are what this show is about.

YES. and that is why i was left feeling satisfied and COMPLETE with the ending. tbh, i don't think any answer about island would satisfy the fans. they will theorize it until the end of time.

Live together.

Die together.

Honestly, i actually LIKE that a lot of things went unanswered. There's something really compelling about unsolved mysteries, especially when explanations tend to be unavoidably lame (as evidenced by the weirdness of Across the Sea). And anyway there's enough material to speculate and draw your own conclusions forever. I agree with you, i'm just so satisfied with the characters and the emotional journey of it all.

JACK AND KATE, MOTHERFUCKERS.

So. Yeah.

This totally validated my complete and insane love for them. And hey - did you notice that from the moment he walked into the church until the end, she didn't take her eyes off him? Because she didn't.

I'm already salivating for the complete series box set, so I can have the most epic rewatch of all time.

No i didn't notice that! ♥___♥ I LOVE THEM SO FREAKING MUCH. I am so indescribably happy that shipping them for SIX YEARS paid off like this. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamazing.

I can't wait to rewatch it either. I've rewatched the first two seasons individually, but going through the whole series at once is gonna be mind-blowing.

OH MAN FINALLY HIIIII.

Sometime last year i had been wondering why An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge was referenced on the show (Locke flipped through it in the hatch) if they didn't all die in the plane crash, but now its relevance is completely clear.
Man, everyone keeps mentioning that story! I went ahead and read it online since I was already spoiled. So, Ambrose Bierce is basically the inventor of the "HE WAS DEAD AND IT WAS ALL A DREAM" twist ending, eh?

But i'm sure everyone else was ecstatic about it, and i did totally yell "WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!" Oh, Lapidus.
We freaked the fuck out and high-fived. At first, we were wondering what the hell they were seeing, and then I saw an arm go up, and I recognized the captain's outfit and thought about who would be floating around in the water and I yelled, "LAPIDUS!!!!!!" AND IT WAS.

HURLEY BECAME THE ISLAND PROTECTOR (AND BEN HIS RICHARD!!!) WTF SO AWESOME. SO, SO AWESOME.
THEY WILL BE THROWING HOT POCKETS AT EACH OTHER FOR CENTURIIIIIIES.

Jack and Hurley = Harry and Neville. HUGO REYES ( ... )

I GUESS! I'm glad to hear other people have been mentioning it though, because i had really been wondering about that story reference not that long ago. I suppose it should have been a hint, but i just saw it as a misdirection, the way they've brought up fan theories before just to say "haha you're wrong."

At first, we were wondering what the hell they were seeing, and then I saw an arm go up, and I recognized the captain's outfit and thought about who would be floating around in the water and I yelled, "LAPIDUS!!!!!!" AND IT WAS.

We were confused at first too! It was like, wait, what the fuck is all this? But once we realized who it was that might be out there we were like "NO WAY! ...YES WAY!!!!"

The 300 Jack-punch-leap cut to commercial was totally badass. Like a comic book issue ending.

IT WAS THE FUCKING GREATEST. Jack's a goddamn superhero, apparently. :D :D :D

I bet they adopted Ji-Yeon too.Before this episode i had ( ... )

HI I'M BACK.

SAYID AND SHANNON?!? WHAT THE HEY! That one felt a little weird to me, uh, maybe because i never bought Sayid/Shannon, but also after Shannon died and Sayid was pissed for a little while, there was really no reference to it ever again. I always thought Sayid loved Nadia most.
I think I'm going with explanations I've seen that Sayid's relationship with Nadia was tied too much to his guilt about being a torturer, whereas his relationship with Shannon was uncomplicated and happy and with Sayid the man rather than Sayid the soldier. Works for me.

Which, HEY, that's why Eloise seemed all-knowing! She of course knows where she is, but she's staying to experience the relationship with her son (and Charles!) that she never had in the real world.
Doesn't really explain why she knows everything in the REAL world, so much. Maybe she had a lot of chalkboards.

the fact that Sun and Jin actually flashed to their deathsThat was what convinced me that they downloaded to the Sideways world when they died, but I didn't guess that it ( ... )

Okay, i really like that. It's just too bad i was never convinced by their chemistry. (...unlike Kate/Sayid, sob!)

Doesn't really explain why she knows everything in the REAL world, so much.

Well, yeah. SHE WAS JUST REALLY SMART, OKAY.

No, really, I love you. Let's be friends. And/or get married.

OKAY!

I'M GLAD I LOVED THE FINALE, TOO. As much as i still would have loved the series if it ended with a thud, it's infinitely more satisfying that it went out on a high note.
