Just wondering if y'all realize this schedule runs at the same time as the regular TW big bang?

We were not aware of this! And it was definitely not our intent to try and detract from that one at all.

We made this schedule completely in the dark about when the regular big bang was running, and while unintentional, we're sticking to the schedule we have now. Too many people have expressed interest for us to try and reschedule, unfortunately.

We'll pay closer attention to when other big bangs are running in the future, though, so as to keep something like this from happening again. The last thing on our minds was competing with anyone. Thank you for letting us know about this. :)

That all makes sense, just wanted to let ya know cus their signups have been open for a while and I know I couldn't tackle two BB's at one time (plus the reverse bang is also running at this time)- I just don't want you guys to get discouraged if you don't get the participation you were expecting. I love BB's that include minibangs SO much =D so YAY!!!! Good luck :)

The twreversebang is running right now as well. Normally I would be excited about a challenge like this, and I think the comm looks fabulous, but there are already two major challenges going on in the fandom and I really wish you would have waited a few months or did a little digging in the fandom before creating your schedule.

I admit I am worried that this could cut into authors claiming for the reverse bang. We have a lot of amazing artists signed up and I would hate for them not to get their art claimed.

Yeah, that was my worry about my regular bang. But I talked with one of the mods of this bang and I understand that they didn't realize that we all have to worry about accidental competition for authors and artists, so I think in the future the three of us will just have to try and schedule our bangs for separate times. It's just unfortunate that all three are running at the same time.

(By the way, I'm so excited you're doing a Reverse Bang. I signed up as an author and I'm PSYCHED. Good luck with it~)

Wow, I just can't get over how awesome y'all are being.

Zoey and I would love to work something out with the Big Bang and the Reverse Bang for next year whenever is possible for all of us so that this doesn't happen again. Thank you for being so great about this!

What's the dropout date with no penalty for authors? I want to sign up, but I'm doing the Reverse Bang as well.

You can drop out any time you need to! The rough drafts are due on December 6th, so if you don't turn one in, we'll know that you officially dropped out. But if you sign up and you realize that you'd rather focus on the Reverse Bang before then, just shoot us a message and let us know you're doing that instead and you'll be out! :)

Okay! That's what I thought but I wanted to make sure, because sometimes these challenges have a no penalty drop out that's different from the rough draft date. :)

So I'm going to sign up b/c i don't want to miss the deadline, but will put this on the back burner until my RBB is done, if that makes sense. :) ANYWAY carry on.

ANYWAY. I just wanted to let y'all know that for whatever reason, the text of this comm looks all sorts of funky in my browser (Google Chrome) because the font is kind of hard to read. Parts of letters are fading into the background and I know if I'm having trouble, someone who is more visually impaired than me is gonna have real trouble. Otherwise I am totally excite for this because mini-bangs are more my style. I get lost if I try to do a huge fic so I really appreciate this. If only I didn't have to squint to read this. Not a huge deal, but I figured I'd let y'all know.

Thank you for letting us know! We'll see what we can do. We're both HTML-illiterate for the most part, so we'll mess around and see if we can make the font color darker or larger, more easily legible.

Alpha's and Beta's

I see that there will be Beta sign ups, but will you be having Alpha sign ups as well? I am working on another Big Bang and it's my first so I am not sure if this is common practice to have both. Our Beta's edit and check grammar, etc and the Alpha's help on plot, dialog, character development and such.

Good question!

We did not plan for alpha reader sign-ups, so I'm also unsure if that's standard practice. I personally had never heard of alpha readers before running the Superbang.

However! One of our participants was awesome enough to set up an alpha reader Tumblr! It's wearethealphasnow.tumblr.com, and it's password-protected. So if you want to join that, send Lisa (lebumblee.tumblr.com) an ask with an email that you use and she'll make you a member and give you the password. :)
