I know you just changed the dates, but did you realize that was Thanksgiving in the US? I know I won't be around to claim art on those days, and while I realize not everyone participating lives in the US it's sort of inconvenient for a lot of people.

I'm actually pretty embarrassed that no, I did not think of that. I even live in the US. Oh, jeez.

Thank you so, so much for bringing that up though. That's an excellent point. Devaun is gone for a few days so we're going to leave it for now, however, as soon as he gets back we'll discuss it and we'll come up with a solution, okay? Thank you for pointing that out to us!

Hi!

We've gotten numerous comments about the length of the sign-up period, and the only reason we set it for a week long is because this is our first challenge, so we were just kind of experimenting and whatnot. Round 2 (which we WILL be holding next year!!!) will hopefully be much better for everyone since we won't have to go through so much trial-and-error.

Guess I'm too late as well. Didn't even know this existed until an hour ago. Too bad, really would have loved to participate. I did BB as an artist loads of times but never as a writer. Had a plot all set up before I came here and saw the schedule.

Just something to think about though, giving writers a week to sign up this shortly after you've started the LJ comm and tumblr for it... is really not that much time for people to notice this exists, consider signing up, start to plan a fic they can manage the word count for and then actually sign up.

I guess it wasn't an issue for you, since you have so many writers but I'm sure I'm not the only one who missed it.

I would have rally appreciated it if you'd posted an anouncement on LJ about moving the deadline up by almost a month. At the time I didn't have a tumblr account, so I missed it. Had I known, I would have planned my time accordingly. As it is, since I still have an exchange fic to finish writing, there is no way I can make the new deadline. I know you're "mainly based on tumblr", but it would have been nice to let us LJ users know of important things like this. :(

I'm sorry that we inconvenienced you so badly. D: The changes have been public and on the community for months, and we use Tumblr for most announcements to keep from cluttering up the community (and it tends to facilitate discussion and communication much more easily than LiveJournal), but we definitely could have made an announcement here to be more accommodating of people who may not have Tumblr.

I take it you're withdrawing from the challenge for this round, which I would completely understand. We're very sorry to see you go, if that's the case. And rest assured, if you'd want to participate in Round 2, our timeline for that will not be changed around nearly as often as we did this time, so things like this won't happen again in the future.

I signed up on the first day, wrote the dates on my list of things to do and didn't check it again, because why would I? And then I signed up for all the things... >.> I might try to write something, but between Uni and work I'm afraid it's going to be too tight for me and I don't want to write something half-assed just because I'm pressed for time, you know?

I personally find LJ better for communication since people usually read their entire Friends page but don't always bother catching up on their entire dashboard, but hey, that might be because I've been on LJ for so many years now, so ymmv.

Anyway, thanks for your kind reply, I really appreciate it. :) I hope I'll manage to sign up for it next year and will manage my time better. ^^ Good luck with the rest of the challenge, I've modded a BB before, I know how much work that is. ;)

Thank you so much for your understanding. :) And rest assured, we'll figure out a way to communicate with everyone on the Tumblr and the LJ so that things like this don't happen again.

We would love to have you for Round 2!

PS: If it turns out you can't meet the deadline, then that's totally okay, and we'll just consider you as dropped out of the challenge. There's no penalty for that at all, and you'd be totally at liberty to do with whatever you've written as you please. So don't stress about it overly much, kay?
