This is a poem inspired by peteralway's "Dulcimandyas". Right now I think the quatrains work best as a prologue to the tune. ( Read more... )

Since Peter wrote the tune for catsittingstill, this poem is all her fault.

I accept the blame. (Cat solemnly inclines her head).

The "A" stanzas can be used in order and repeated as needed for lyrics to the "A" parts.

I'd have to substantially rewrite the middle stanza to make it fit as lyrics for "B" parts. I already have an idea or two for doing it; but the poem stands for now. The middle stanza is inspired by a remembrance of a time when my family would travel to a campground in the Lower Peninsula of Western Michigan's middle, and there was this farmhouse on a hill nearby, overlooking the road and the little valley beyond. And every summer, as we passed by, the place got a little older and more decrepit ...

I do thank you for pushing the lead domino!

Well, I've revised this so that the (now) two quatrains form a prologue to the tune, and the first "A(A)" part and both the "B(B)" parts are instrumental.

Truly, this looks like a potential "jam" tune - it could be repeated any number of times with various "D" melody instruments taking the lead for an ("AABB") verse.
