Increasingly I think that Tycho ought to hold back on the editorials, get a couple of better writers (with interesting things to say) to fill the editorial side of the site and he should just stick to the (usually very good) comics. Tycho's posts veer between the incredibly tedious and the barely tolerable - and I really don't think he's a particularly good wordsmith, though he obviously feels that he is.

That's not to say he doesn't have his moments, because he certainly does.

I just find them fewer and further between now, and the guff that separates them is increasingly annoying.

I'll save you the trouble (or, at least, anyone else who might be reading this and also doesn't know); Kate Clinton is, while no relation to Bill and Hillary, an absolutely brilliant lesbian feminist comedian. A 'fumerist', as she's referred to herself. I would fully recommend looking her up on that YouTube thingy.

Also, on the whole Tycho being a great wordsmith thing... meh. My English teacher in high school was fond of the adage that you should rarely use 20 words where 10 will do; Tycho must've gotten the opposite impression. English is indeed one of those skills that will go rusty if it's not exercised occasionally, but that doesn't mean he needs to burp up a thesaurus onto the site every time he posts.
