I really need to get back into the habit of tripling my time estimates. Plan A called for arrving at the hotel around 3 Thursday afternoon

Use the Programmer's Rule: Make your best time estimate, add one, then shift up to next higher set of units.

Example: You estimate preping for a con will take 2 hours. So really it will take 3 days.

Simple really.
