Rogue still couldn't quite believe it. Skids was just gone. Didn't say a word, nothing. Just took the snowmobile and never returned. She was intent on ignoring Toad's and Avalanche's negative remarks. Skids was just a kid, so was Av, but she never really thought the girl wanted to be there. She just wanted a family. Erik looked up as Rogue entered. "I am seriously considering disbanding the Brotherhood of Mutants and moving to Las Vegas. There, I will open up a Vegas show manipulating metal into shapes to wow the crowd of witless humans. I will put you in a dress and you will be my assistant. And then you will touch the hapless volunteers and shock them with your power. We'll be millionaires."

He took off his reading glasses and threw them on the desk in disgust. "I might be more successful at that than mutant liberation. Perhaps I could keep the cast together."

Rogue bit her lip to stop herself from laughing. "Ya don't mean that. Ya'd get bored of Vegas in a week." She sat down on the edge of the desk and picked up his glasses. "Would it be a pretty low cut dress?"

She placed the glasses into the case and set it down, picking up his hand. "Just cause a scared kid left doesn't mean ya ain't successful."

"Yes, right after Pyro. What am I doing wrong, Anna? Should I demand they start signing contracts? Do they think I am not serious about what we are doing, here? Do they only believe me when I am orchestrating attacks or planting bombs?" Erik looked at her, shaking his head. "We have to leave. I don't know if I should find Skids and drag her back here, or let her go and hope she doesn't reveal too much of whatever it is she knows."

"We're not draggin' her back." She's adamant about that. "If'n she doesn't wanna be here ain't no point in forcin' her."

Rogue squeezed his hand. "It ain't your fault. None of it. This...its a hard life an' Pyro is comin' back. You'll see. He just needs ta find a balance is all. He's in love."
